AACN Cardiogenic Shock Clinical Simulation in Nursing
2/8/08 AACN
978-0-7817-9430-5

One of two multimedia-type units consisting of a tutorial and a case simulation on critical care nursing related to cardiogenic shock. This program describes the case of a female who presents to the Emergency Department with a three-day history of vague cardiac complaints.  She is diagnosed with a non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and is admitted to the ICU.  This simulation reviews the nursing assessment and management of cardiogenic shock, care of patients with a pulmonary artery catheter, and nursing management of patients with an intra-aortic balloon pump.
